CATEGORIES: GRADES 2-4, 5-7, 8-9, 10-12
Your task is to create an animated movie that teaches a math, science or social studies fact or concept.
LENGTH OF MOVIE:
Movies are to be no longer than 5 minutes.
The Educational Animation Festival has no entry fee.
ENTRY DEADLINE: May 15, 2016
FESTIVAL DATE: All winning movies will be live on the festival site on June 1, 2016.
Your movie should be aimed at students in your grade category.
JUDGING AND CRITERIA:
Movies will be judged on creativity, quality of technical elements and how well its teaching point is conveyed.
A panel of independent artists and educators will judge the submitted movies. This panel will not include WVIA or Box Of Light staff.
This festival is open to filmmakers within the WVIA broadcast area.

All entrants must agree that their movie can be posted online, broadcast and used for promotional purposes by WVIA and Box Of Light.
Beyond this, all rights to the movies remain with the filmmakers.
First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention awards given in each category.
Multiple Honorable Mention awards may be given.
All winning movies will be posted to the WVIA/Box Of Light Festival website.
First and Second place movies will receive trophies.
Third place and all Honorable Mention movies will receive award certificates.
The first place movie in the Grade 2-4 category will win a school assembly from Box Of Light.
First place movie in all other categories will receive an animation workshop to be held in school or at a Box Of Light studio.
TEACHERS: Box Of Light will hold an Educators Workshop in stop action animation at the WVIA studio in Pittston, PA on December 17 (December 18 snow date). In this workshop, we'll take you through the process of making a stop motion movie and setting up the project for a classroom of students. Participants in this workshop will receive ACT 48 credit.
